It’s over for Billie Eilish and Jesse Rutherford. The Grammy-winning singer and the Neighbourhood frontman have called it quits after dating for less than a year, their representatives confirmed to multiple outlets.
“We can confirm Billie and Jesse did split amicably and remain good friends,” the reps said in a statement. “All cheating rumors are false. Both are currently single.”
The pair sparked dating rumors in October 2022, when they were seen holding hands and kissing in Los Angeles. They made their red carpet debut as a couple in November, wearing matching Gucci outfits at the LACMA Art+Film Gala.
Eilish, 21, gushed about her relationship with Rutherford, 31, in her annual Vanity Fair interview video posted in December. She said she was “really happy” and “really excited” about being with him.
“I managed to get … my life to a point where I not only was known by a person that I thought was the hottest f— f— alive, but pulled his a—,” she said.

She also revealed that Rutherford inspired her creatively and that they shared a mutual admiration for each other’s work.
“I’m really inspired by him,” she said. “He’s inspired by me.”
The last time Rutherford appeared on Eilish’s Instagram was in April, when she tagged him in her Easter recap post. They also attended the Coachella festival together that month.
It’s unclear what caused the breakup, but Eilish has previously opened up about avoiding the internet and the negative comments about herself and her relationship.
“I’m doing what I’ve always done and looking at the internet, because I am an internet person … and slowly the videos I’m watching and the things I see on the internet are, like, about me,” she told Conan O’Brien on his podcast in March.
She added that she tries to focus on the positive aspects of her life and career, rather than the criticism.
“I’m just trying to live my life and do what I want to do and make what I want to make,” she said.
Eilish is set to release her third studio album, Happier Than Ever, on July 30. Rutherford is working on new music with his band, The Neighbourhood.
