Shelter Dog Finds New Home After Wearing Late Pet’s Bandana

    Published on

Ella, a blue-hued pit bull, had been living in a shelter in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, for seven years. She was a victim of abuse and had fear aggression, which made it hard for her to find a suitable adopter. She was the longest resident at the shelter, and many people overlooked her because of her breed and her past.

But one day, a woman named Kaitlyn visited the shelter and felt an instant connection with Ella. She had recently lost her dog Jo, a black lab mix, to cancer and was looking for a new companion. She noticed that Ella was wearing a bandana that belonged to her late dog, whom she had donated to the shelter along with other items.

“I looked at her bandana and realized it was Jo’s. I couldn’t believe it. It was like he was telling me, ‘This is your new dog, Mom,'” Kaitlyn said.

She took this as a sign that Ella was meant to be her new companion. She adopted Ella and gave her a loving home, where she enjoys playing with toys, cuddling on the couch, and going on walks.

“She’s such a sweet girl. She loves everyone she meets. She’s so gentle and affectionate. She’s like a big baby,” Kaitlyn said.

The shelter staff were overjoyed to see Ella finally find her forever home. They had been trying to find a suitable match for her for years, and they were glad that Kaitlyn came along.

“We’re so happy for Ella and Kaitlyn. They’re a perfect match. Ella waited a long time for her forever home, and we’re glad she finally found it,” a shelter staff member said.

Ella’s story is a testament to the resilience and loyalty of pit bulls, who are often misunderstood and discriminated against because of their appearance and reputation. Pit bull advocates hope that Ella’s story will inspire more people to adopt pit bulls and give them a chance to be loved and cherished.

“Ella is a testament to the resilience and loyalty of pit bulls. They are amazing dogs who deserve a chance to be loved and cherished,” a pit bull advocate said.
