Trader Joe’s Recalls Crackers for Possible Metal Contamination

    Published on

Trader Joe’s, a popular grocery chain, is recalling its multigrain crackers with sunflower and flax seeds because they might contain metal, the company announced on Thursday.

Trader Joe’s is recalling two types of its cookies because they may contain rocks.

The recall affects products with a SKU number of 76156 and a “best if used by” date of March 1, 2024 to March 5, 2024. The company learned about the possible contamination from its supplier and has removed all potentially affected products from sale.

“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause,” Trader Joe’s said in a statement.

No injuries have been reported so far, but customers who have the crackers are advised to discard them or return them to a store for a full refund.

This is the fourth recall that Trader Joe’s has made in less than a month due to foreign objects in their food, such as rocks and insects.

On August 9, the company recalled its dark chocolate almond butter cups for containing peanut protein that was not declared on the label. On August 10, it recalled its tahini sauce and zhoug sauce for containing pieces of glass. On August 11, it recalled its almond kringle for containing pecans that were not declared on the label.

“The health and safety of our customers is our highest priority,” Trader Joe’s said in a statement. “The company has been working closely with its suppliers to ensure that all products meet or exceed food safety standards.”

Trader Joe’s is one of the largest grocery chains in the United States, with more than 500 stores in 42 states and Washington, D.C. It is known for its private-label products, low prices, and quirky atmosphere.

The company has not disclosed how many crackers were affected by the recall or how much it will cost to resolve the issue. It has also not commented on whether the recalls will affect its reputation or sales.
