“What else did you find besides trash and clothes?” Prosecutor Leo Wise asked her.
“The remnants of cocaine and some paraphernalia,” Hallie recalled. “Oh, and the guns, obviously.”
Hallie Biden said she found the gun in the car’s “armrest console,” which she said was unlocked because “the lock was broken.” She said it was the first time she had seen a gun. She also found ammunition.
“I panicked and I wanted to get rid of them,” she told the jury.
When asked why she panicked, Halle Biden said she “didn’t want him to hurt himself.” She said she was also worried that her children would find the gun, saying she had considered “hiding” it somewhere, but was worried that they would find it.

Hunter Biden is facing three serious charges for allegedly buying a revolver in October 2018. Two of the charges are related to lying about his drug use on a federal firearms form, claiming he did not use or have an addiction to any controlled substances while prosecutors allege he was addicted to cocaine. The other charge is for allegedly possessing the firearm unlawfully. It’s said that he had the gun for 11 days before Hallie Biden disposed of it.
Hunter Biden has pleaded not guilty to the charges. His attorney, Abbe Lowell, signaled in opening statements that denial is a common trait among addicts, suggesting Hunter may not have intentionally lied on the gun form. Contrariwise, the prosecution, represented by Derek Hines, has maintained a stance that while “addiction may not be a choice, lying and buying a gun is a choice.”
