The U.S. Air Force has unveiled a trio of new images capturing the B-21 Raider stealth bomber during its ongoing flight testing at Edwards Air Force Base, California. These images, taken over several months—specifically on January 17, April 4, and May 22, 2024—mark the first official visual documentation of the Raider since its inaugural flight in November 2023.
The series of photographs provides a rare glimpse into the intricacies of this sixth-generation bomber. Two of the images showcase the aircraft in flight; one captures the Raider taking off, while the other presents it at altitude with its landing gear retracted. A third image offers a head-on view of the bomber housed within a hangar at Edwards. These snapshots reveal key design elements and suggest advances in stealth capabilities. As Hunter stated during his Senate testimony, “We are working our way through the test objectives that we have for the platform, and I’m encouraged with how that’s progressing.”
