Tom Cruise is one of the most famous and successful actors in Hollywood, but he is also one of the most mysterious and controversial. The star of the Mission: Impossible franchise has been making headlines recently for his involvement in both DC and Marvel movies, as well as his ambitious space project.
According to a Reddit post that links to a source claiming that Tom Cruise has been offered a role in a DC movie, the actor may have turned down the opportunity to join the superhero universe. The post has sparked a lot of speculation and jokes from Reddit users, who suggested various characters he could play, such as Lex Luthor, Robin, Blue Devil, Maxwell Lord, the Atom, Brother Blood, or Green Lantern. Some also mocked his Scientology beliefs and his previous role as Iron Man.
However, Tom Cruise may have already joined another superhero universe: the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Rumors have persisted that the actor will be portraying a variant of Iron Man in the upcoming film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. While that has yet to be confirmed, there are no further reports that he will be in another Marvel project, possibly as Superior Iron Man or a member of the Illuminati.
“Tom Cruise has joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe and will be in an upcoming project,” GFR reported.
But Tom Cruise is not only interested in superheroes. He is also working on a space movie that will be filmed on the International Space Station with the help of Axiom, a company that is developing a commercial space station. The producers of Tom Cruise’s future space movie announced plans to attach a studio to the ISS in development by Axiom.
“We really work very hard to make these movies,” producer Barbara Muschietti said.
Tom Cruise is also a supporter of the theatrical experience, as evidenced by his success with Top Gun: Maverick, which made over $1.4 billion worldwide. He is also a fan of other movies, such as The Flash, which he saw early and praised as “everything you want in a movie” and “the kind of movie we need now”.
“Tom Cruise loved [The Flash] so much that he cold called [Andy Muschietti] to pass along his praise,” THR reported.
Tom Cruise is undoubtedly one of the most influential and versatile actors in the industry, who can tackle any genre and challenge. Whether he is playing a superhero, a spy, or an astronaut, he always delivers an unforgettable performance. What will he do next? We can only wait and see.
