Sylvester Stallone Teases “You Have No Idea What’s Coming” as ‘Tulsa King’ Season 2 Production Begins

    Published on

The excitement is palpable among fans of “Tulsa King” as production for season 2 has officially commenced, and none other than its star, Sylvester Stallone, took to social media to stoke the flames of anticipation. The Paramount+ series, developed by Taylor Sheridan, has become a fixture for viewers eager for the continuation of the mafia-drama centered around Dwight “The General” Manfredi.

Sylvester Stallone has set the stage with a clip shared on Paramount+’s Instagram account, delivering a message that both promises and mystifies: “you have no idea what’s coming.” This statement has raised expectations for what is anticipated to be a riveting season after the show’s renewal announcement on November 30, 2022. Despite there being no official trailer yet, the short video has certainly kept fans on their toes.

The decision to greenlight the second season was an easy one, with Chris McCarthy, President and CEO of Paramount Media Networks & MTV Entertainment Studios, citing “Tulsa King” as the “#1 new series of the year,” surpassing all others in viewership, including the highly popular ‘Game of Thrones’ prequel ‘House of the Dragon.’ With the series driving Paramount+ to its “biggest new sign-up day in history,” the future looks promising not just for the upcoming season but possibly for expanding the universe further as hinted by Paramount’s Chief Programming Officer, Tanya Giles.

As Dwight Manfredi’s saga continues, fans are left grappling with the season one cliffhanger—Manfredi’s re-arrest orchestrated by Stacy, played by Andrea Savage. The second season promises to unravel this betrayal, while Manfredi’s troubles with Chickie, another antagonist, are set to deepen the narrative’s complexity.

Stallone’s portrayal of the crime lord has been a career-defining role, despite his lighthearted gripes about the rigors of television production compared to filmmaking. His commitment to reprise his role is a testament to the series’ success and its gripping storyline, elements that have already enticed a robust cast to return. The ensemble cast for season two includes Andrea Savage, Martin Starr, Max Casella, and more.

While filming is confirmed to take place in Oklahoma and Atlanta, the reasons for the switch in filming locations have not been explicitly stated. However, Stallone’s previous experience filming in Oklahoma during the summer has been humorously documented on social media.

Despite the lack of a definitive premiere date, Paramount+ hinted at a fall return for “Tulsa King” in the same Instagram video that announced the start of production. This aligns with the post-strike resumption of many TV productions, meaning fans may not have to wait much longer for the next chapter in Dwight Manfredi’s story.

For now, those eagerly awaiting the return of “Tulsa King” can find solace in Stallone’s foreboding tease and the fact that production is back in full swing. As for the specifics of what season 2 will entail, audiences will have to wait a bit longer, but one thing remains certain: “Tulsa King” is back, and it promises to deliver the unexpected.
